Maria Pendolino is the founder of The Almost Knew Theatre Company and is serving as its producing artistic director. She arrived in New York City in July 2004 by way of Binghamton, NY and Buffalo, NY. Maria started her theatre career as an actress in community theatre in Buffalo. She appeared in several productions including The Secret Garden, Aladdin and was featured as Mildred in the Buffalo premeire of Stephen Sondheim's Saturday Night with The Dramatis Personae. Maria attended Binghamton University and graduated with a degree in Creative Writing and a minor in theatre. She has also appeared as Mrs. Soames in Our Town and Betty's Summer Vacation as the ridiculous Mrs. Siezmagraff. She was also the production manager for Dickinson Community Players, a theatre troupe at Binghamton University. During her time with DCP she directed five productions including A Chorus Line, Songs For A New World and Into The Woods and acted in several others. In New York, Maria has performed with The Dessoff Choirs and recently made her solo choral debut in Benjamin Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb. She has directed productions for The Brooklyn Playwights and The Regroup Theatre. Maria is an avid theatre-goer and is the reason that Tivo was invented due to the number of television programs she is addicted to. Maria is currently working full-time as the Assistant Vice President of network expansion for a global finance organization. She is also a huge fan of live music and can be seen "performing" karaoke at The Chelsea Grill on Saturday Nights.
