Since our inception, we have been featured on the stages of Danny's Skylight Cabaret, The Duplex and The Kraine Theater. Read below to learn more about each production we have completed thus far.
two+nite: a concert evening times two was performed in July of 2005, featuring the talents of Maria Pendolino, Jason Forbach, Molly Amoroso, Scott Dispensa, Erin Gell and Tommy Marr. The program featured two songs by our favorite composers - including songs from A Man of No Importance, Once on This Island, The Wild Party, Pippin and many more. This was our first extended engagement! We performed 3 shows at the historic Duplex Cabaret Theatre in the village to sold-out crowds!
Two With Almost Knew was presented in February 2006, featuring Tamar Queen and Angie Martin in "Rosemary with Ginger" by Edward Allan Baker and Nathan Gismot, Sarah Nedwek, Mike Edmonds and Dave Collins in "How Gertrude Stormed The Philosopher's Club" by Martin Epstein. The evening was directed by Maria Pendolino. The performance was held at The Kraine Theater in the East Village to a sold-out crowd.
Gender Benders was presented in July 2006 at The Duplex and was TAKTC's most successful show to date! Record audiences attended to hear our great company members perform the best songs that musical theatre has to offer. This show had a catch though ... we flipped stuff around! Our men sang the great women's songs of musical theatre and vice versa. Finally, the guys got the showstopping belting numbers and the girls got to romance the night away. The audience loved it! The show included numbers from: Rent, Baby, Wonderful Town, The Wild Party and many, many more!
The show will feature signature songs from your favorite films like Empire Records, Pretty Woman, Footloose and so many more! Producing Artistic Director, Maria Pendolino, will be leading a cast of TAKTC regulars including Lindsay Drew, Robbie Rozelle, Hector Coris and Erin Gell. We're also pleased to welcome TAKTC newcomers Tiffany Ente, AJ Methvin and Mikey Cruz. Dan Hammer will once again be at the helm as music director and we also welcome Jerome Oertling, who will be playing the drums! Stars In Our Eyes was performed on January 15th, 2005 at Danny's Skylight Room Cabaret. The show was a sell-out success. The cast included Maria Pendolino, Tamar Queen, Molly Amoroso, Tony Castellanos, Scott Dispensa, Lindsay Drew and Dwain McClellan. Accompanists were Rebeka Schleifer and Rob Magee. The show was directed by Maria Pendolino and Tamar Queen. The show included songs from musicals such as Assassins, The Last Five Years, Once Upon A Mattress, Titanic, Dreamgirls, Wicked, Kiss Me, Kate, tick,tick...BOOM!, 42nd Street, Into The Woods, Closer Than Ever and Songs For A New World.
Broadway Love Songs was performed on February 14th, 2005 at Danny's Skylight Room Cabaret. Despite a Valentine's Day monsoon, we had a full house! The cast included Maria Pendolino, Molly Amoroso, Hector Coris, Lindsay Drew and Jason Forbach. Accompanists were Rebeka Schleifer and Dan Zak. The show was directed by Tamar Queen. The show included Songs from The Boys From Syracuse, Assassins, Songs For A New World, Little Shop of Horrors, Babes In Arms, Song and Dance, SideShow, The Wild Party, Baby, Avenue Q and RENT.
